Ex-student Bijan Nandy passed away

Sri Bijan Nandy (ex Student 1986 Batch) passed away on 30th May, 2016 at his residence at Niamatpur, Asansol.

He was suffering from heart, kidney and allied problems. Bijan Da left behind his wife and two sons.

May his soul rest in peace is our prayer before the Almighty.

Daughter of Ex-student 2nd in Madhyamik, 2016

With great pleasure and pride the Alumni Association informs all members that Miss Titas Dubey who stood Second in the Madhyamik Examination this year from Simlipal Girls School, Bankura is the daughter of our ex-student Sri Soumen Dubey of 1985 Batch.

The Association extends heartiest congratulation to Titas and his parents.

Shakti da retires

Sri Shakti Prasad Mishra, our respected and beloved Shakti-da, teacher of English in the school, retires from the service today, 29th February, 2016.

Shaktida joined Vidyapith in December, 1980 and has been a key figure in shaping up the character of the students as well as the institution including its academic excellence. He served as a teacher as well as a warden most of the time during his tenure of service.

Ex-student Sanjib Mukherjee passed away

Sri Sanjib Mukherjee(1968) passed away on 8th February, 2016 at Kolkata. He was suffering from cardiac and allied problems. He was 64. He left behind his wife and two daughters.

Sanjib da was one of the founder members of the Alumni Association and had served the Association till his last day.

May his soul rest in peace is our earnest prayer the Almighty.

Uttisthata 3rd Year 1st Issue released

The 1st issue of 3rd year of the magazine Uttisthata has been released by Revered Swami Satyadharmanandaji Maharaj of Ramakrishna Mission Saradapitha on 3rd January, 2016 at Chandpara Sri Ramakrishna Sangha, North 24 pgns .

This is an initiative involving some of our ex-students including Anindyasundar Ghosh of 1985 batch.

Durgapada Bhatacharya da passed away

Sri Durgapada Bhattacharya, ex-teacher of Vidyapith and our respected Durga da, passed away at Pandua on 5th December, 2015 morning. He was 95 and is survived by two sons.

Apart from his love for students & excellent teaching of Sanskrit, Durga da will be remembered for his wonderful acting, story-telling and writing skill.

May his soul rest in peace is our earnest prayer to the Almighty.

Ex-student to receive Lord Baden Powell National Award

Aswini Kumar Jha (1994 Batch) , second in command in RAF's 106 Battalion and currently posted in Sundergarh Camp office in Jamshedpur has been selected for the prestigious Lord Baden Powell National Award 2016 for his outstanding service to the humanity.

Feature Film Dugdhonokhor by ex-student

Sourav Sarkar, ex-student of from 2001 batch of Vidyapith, has directed a Bengali feature film Dugdhonokhor (দুগ্ধনখর) which is going to be released on December 11, 2015 in Inox South City Mall and PVR Diamond Plaza, Jessore Road. Sourav would like to convey his appeal to achieve the presence of alumni members in theaters to watch the movie.

Tickets would be available online, and at the ticket counters of the respective theaters as well.

Accommodation during Reunion 2015

Members below 1970 Batch are requested to avail accommodation facilities made at Ramakrishna Sadan and Sarada Sadan.
Members from 1961 to 1970 will be accommodated at the Vidyapith Hospital.

Ladies accompanying ex-students will be accommodated at the Vidyapith Guest House on first informed first served basis.
