Annual Picnic scheduled on 07.01.2007

The Annual Picnic is scheduled on 07.01.2007(Sunday) at Mallik Kanan, Barrackpore.

Venue: Mallik Kanan, Barrackpore, beside Morning Star College on Barrackpore-Barasat Road.

Station: Barrackpore and from their by Auto Rickshaw.

Members are requested to subscribe on or before 31st December, 2007 and confirm their attendance alongwith their family members.

Subscription Rate: Rs 100/= per head.No subscription is required for children below 5years.

Vijaya Sammelani - 2006

The Vijaya Sammelani will be held at the Marable Palace, 46 Muktaram Babu Street on 29.10.2006 from 5.p.m onwards.

We reuest you all to be present there with your family members to make the event a grand success.

Tentative Schedule of Silver Jubilee Celebrations

Alumni Association is having its Silver Jubilee in 2007. Here is the tentative fixture of the events to celebrate the occassion.
1. Puja at Balaram Mandir on 11th March (Venue & Date finalised)
2. Academic Session
3. Blood Donation Camp/ Eye Check Up Camp
4. Cultural Function
5. Four Team Football Tournament

The venue and date of the abovesaid programmes are on implementation process and to be informed on finalisation.

Silver Jubilee Celebrations of the Alumni Association

As you all know the Alumni Association of ours was formed in 1982 at the time when Vidyapith was celebrating its Silver Jubilee. So 2007 happens to be our Silver Jubilee year. It has been thought of by us to commemorate the occasion through several activities round the year. A group of Members will be sitting together on 19th July, 2006 at the Asssociation Office to fix up a tentative programme schedule. We request you all to send your valuable suggestions in this respect.

Latest Fund Position for purchase of Office

Fund Position for purchase of Office as on 14th May, 2006 is as follows.

Till 14.05.2006 Association has received Rs 3.20 Lakhs as Donation for Purchase of Office against the Expenses of Rs 4.50 Lakhs.

The Balance amount has been met by using our Fixed Deposits which have grown over the years.

Alumni Association thanks the donors for their contribution and once again requests all members for kind donation to meet up the difference.

Association's new office open for members' use

Alumni Association welcomes members to come forward and make proper use of the new office space acquired.

The New Office purchased at 9/1 Akrur Dutta Lane is now ready and members are requested to use it for themselves. Batches are requested to hold get togethers at the premises as and when they wish except Wednesday evenings.

The Office is well equipped with 12 Chairs, 1 Centre Table, 1 Water Purifier apart from usual lights and fan. An attached Toilet is also there for use.

Members are requested to take the keys from the follwoing persons and return after use.

Wednesday Meetings henceforth at our new office

The Meetings held every Wednesdays will henceforth be held at 9/1 Akrur Dutta Lane, Kolkata 700 012 (2nd Floor) from 6 p.m. onwards instead of 7B Kiran Sankar Roy Road, Kolkata 700 001.

We sincerely acknowledge the assistance provided by Dr Tapen Mallik (1973) who had allowed us to continue our Meetings at 7B Kiran Sankar Roy Road for the last 25 years.

We cordially invite you all to join the Wednesday Meetings.

Prangopal Maharaj passes away

Prangopal Maharaj, our Ex Bhandari Maharaj at Vidyapith passed away a few days back at Belur Math.

May his Soul rest in peace is our earnest prayer to the Almighty.
