Chandida passed away

Sri Chandi Chakraborty, our beloved and respected Chandi da, passed away at Rameshwarlal Sinhania Nursing Home, Purulia on 7th June, 2011 noon at the age of 61.

Chandi da, the retired history teacher of Vidyapith, had been fighting cancer for long. He is survived by his wife and daughter.

Chandi da will ever be remembered for his teaching, his wonderful sense of humour and his profound love for his students.

May his soul rest in peace is our earnest prayer to the Almighty.

Programme at Rabindra Sadan

A function has been organised at Rabindra Sadan, Kolkata by Nan Ritam on 24th April, 2011(Sunday) at 9:30AM to inaugurate the 2 year long celebration of the 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda and observe the 103rd birth anniversary of Swami Lokeshwarananda Maharaj.
Sri M.K.Narayanan, the Governor of West Bengal, Swami Suparnananda, Secretary of R.K.Mission, Narendrapur and Sri Ashoke Mohan Chakraborty, Ex Chief Secretary, Govt of West Bengal has given their kind consent to be present in the function.
Members are invited to join the same.

Panchuda is better now

Panchu da has been released from KPC Medical College and Hospital, Jadavpur and is back to Purulia. He is better now with some minor problems.

Our heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the contributors to the issue - Partha Neogy(1967), Pinaki Mishra(1985), The 1983 Batch, The 1988 Batch, Atanu Bhattacharya(1989), A. Khatua(Phani Da's son), Anjan Roy(1991) without whom this would not have been possible. The involvement was to the tune of Rs 76,800/-.

Wishes to the Madhyamik Examinees, 2011

The Madhyamik Examination for the year is scheduled on 23rd February, 2011.

We request members to subscribe a few lines (Login and Add new comment to this post) expressing their best wishes to our beloved brothers which will be sent to the Headmaster of the school on 20th February, 2011.

Members are requested to spare some of their valuable time and do the same.

Blood donated for Panchuda

The Association has managed to find 3 blood donors for Panchuda so far, one being our fellow ex-student and the other two being friends of ex-students. The names of three donors are -

The annual Nara Narayan Seba at Vidyapith is scheduled on 13th February, 2011.

Revered Swami Atmaprabhanandaji Maharaj , secretary of the school, invites ex-students to join the same.

Kalidasda is admitted into Woodlands

Kalidas Guhathakurata, our dear Kalidasda, an ex-teacher of Vidyapith has been admitted into Woodlands Hospital in Kolkata with health problem on 9th February, 2011.
