Sri Somnath Ghosh from 1987 batch has joined as Ambassador of the Republic Of India to Mongolia. He is the youngest ever Indian to be an Ambassador of the of the country since independence.

He has sent some pics which we like to share amongst all of us.

Ex-student becomes MP

Dr Mriganka Mahato, 1980 Batch has probably become the first Member of Parliament amongst us. He won the Purulia constituency under the All India Trinamool Congress party banner.

Research Work by Sri Santi Singha

A research work on Bankura- Puruliar Shilpa o Sanskriti (বাঁকুড়া পুরুলিয়ার শিল্প ও সংস্কৃতি) has recently been published by Deys Publishing of 13 Bankim Chatterjee Street, Kolkata 700 073.

The research work has been conducted by Sri Santi Singha, ex Bengali Teacher of Ramakrishna Mission Vidypith, Purulia, our beloved Santi Da.

The Book is of 536 pages and costs Rs 500.

A book of poems by Rajatkanti SinhaChoudhuri will be published at the Kolkata Book fair on 7th February, 2014 at 3 pm. The name of the book is Desher Mati. The venue is the stall of Pratibhas (stall no. 549).

Some members already know that Sri Somnath Ghosh of 1987 Batch is an IFS officer of the Government of India. Presently he is posted as the Assistant High Commissioner of India in Bangladesh.

Very recently he is going to be the Ambassador of India to the Republic of Mongolia.

Sri Somnath Ghosh will be the youngest Ambassador of the Republic of India to any country in the world since independence.

Dr. Sanjy Paul to receive Thomas Alva Edison patent award

Dr. Sanjoy Paul, an ex-student of 1978 batch has been nominated for 2013 Thomas Alva Edison patent award in New Jersey, USA. He is an IEEE Fellow and Managing Director of Accenture Technology Labs, India.

Book edited by Swami Sivapradananda

Swami Sivapradananada aka Saikatesh Maharaj, an ex-student and ex-Headmaster of the school recently edited a book on Sri Ramakrishna. The name of the book is 'SriRamakrishna BhabPrabaha: MananBhumi Chhunye' (শ্রীরামকৃষ্ণ ভাবপ্রবাহঃ মননভূমি ছুঁয়ে). Swami Atmasthananda, the President of Ramakrishna Math & Mission inaugurated the book at Belur Math on 15th May, 2013. The book has been published by Kamarpukur Ramakrishna Math & Mission.

Sri Biswajit Ray, an ex-student of 1993 batch has edited a collection of Vivekananda's Bengali writings. The name of the book is Swami Vivekananda Bangla Rachana Sangkalan (স্বামী বিবেকানন্দ বাংলা রচনা সংকলন) and it has been published by Bangla Academy. The book contains original writings by Swamiji published at Udbodhan with their spellings and punctuations intact. The book is available in the market.

Sri Pinaki Chandra Ghosh joined Supreme Court

The Association extends heartiest congratulations to Sri Pinaki Chandra Ghosh for taking over the post of Honourable Justice in the Supreme Court of India.
Sri Ghosh is an ex-student of Vidyapith from 1968 Batch.

Vidyapith Chhou team visits Bangladesh

Recently, at the initiative of Swami Atmaprabhanandaji Maharaj, a Chhou (ছৌ) team comprising of 25 dining hall staffs of Vidyapith performed at Bagerhat centre of Ramakrishna Mission. Bagerhat is located in Bangladesh and the performance was highly applauded by the people watching the show. Revered Maharaj himself escorted the team.
