Swarnarenu Mukherjee passed away

Swarnarenu Mukherjee of 1990 Madhyamik Batch, an eminent gynaecologist in Durgapur passed away on 19th April, 2012 after a massive cerebral attack.
He left behind his wife and a child.

Pramod Biswas passed away

Pramod Biswas, our dear Pramod-da, the Bengali & Sanskrit teacher of Vidyapith, passed away this morning (12th April, 2012). He was admitted to Bokaro hospital after having a cerebral attack a few days back causing paralysis to his left side.

Pramod-da is survived by his wife and a son.

May his soul rest in peace is our prayer to The Almighty.

Ex-student Sri Tapan Banerjee passed away

Sri Tapan Banerjee (1966 batch) passed away at Hyderabad on 8th February, 2012 after a road accident.

Tapan Da was an active member of the Association and participated in almost all of our Reunions. He served the Indian Railways during his tenure of service being posted at Adra.
He took a major role in the preparation of the Asset Register of Vidyapith in 2011.

Ex-student Sk Jasimuddin passed away

Sk Jasimuddin, ex-student from 2007 (Madhyamik) & 2009(HS) batch, passed away at his residence on 29th January, 2012 after suffering from Appendicitis. Shy by nature, Jasim, as he was called, was a very good sportsman and became the best athlete in the Vidyapith sports.

Srimat Swami Prameyanandaji Maharaj passes away

The Association deeply mourns the demise of most revered Srimat Swami Prameyanandaji Maharaj, Vice President, Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission who has moved to Sri Ramakrishnaloke this morning (20th October, 2011) at Kolkata.

May his soul rest in peace is our earnest prayer to the Almighty.

Ex-student Amar Dey passed away

Sri Amar Dey (ex-student, 1965 batch) passed away at his residence at Kolkata on 23rd July, 2011.

Amar Da, a bachelor and younger brother of Sri Samar Dey, was an active member of the Association since its inception. He used to take profound interest in the souvenirs those we had published so far.

Chandida passed away

Sri Chandi Chakraborty, our beloved and respected Chandi da, passed away at Rameshwarlal Sinhania Nursing Home, Purulia on 7th June, 2011 noon at the age of 61.

Chandi da, the retired history teacher of Vidyapith, had been fighting cancer for long. He is survived by his wife and daughter.

Chandi da will ever be remembered for his teaching, his wonderful sense of humour and his profound love for his students.

Sri Dipak Mukherjee passed away

Sri Dipak Mukherjee of 1976 batch passed away in Kolkata on 24th January, 2011 after a massive heart attack.

Sri Shyamal Jana passed away

Sri Shyamal Jana, our beloved and respected Shyamal Da, physical instructor of Vidyapith, passed away on 15th January, 2011 after a fatal road accident at the Bongabari More near Viadyapith.

Sushil Ghosh da passed away

Sri Sushil Ghosh, our beloved and respected Sushil da, passed away at Purulia on 11th January, 2011 morning.

Sushil da, the Natyacharya of Vidyapith, was the person who escorted the bus that started its journey from Deoghar with a handful number of students to start the session at Purulia Vidyapith in April, 1958.

Sushil da will ever be remembered for his strict disciplinary habits, his unforgettable acting and his profound love for his students.
