Swami Putanandaji Memorial Fund handover rescheduled

The balance 5 lakh rupees fund handover in memory of Swami Putanandaji to Vidyapith has been rescheduled to 30th March at 6:30pm at the Sri Ramakrishna Mandir.

The change had to be made due to the fact that Saikatesh Maharaj has been invited to be the keynote speaker at Kamarpukur on 9th March at Sri Sri Thakur's tithipuja celebrations.

Members are requested to suitably adjust their schedule.

Articles for the souvenir

Friends, as we all know our Souvenir- Abhudaya will be released during the Reunion slated on 16th and 17th November 2019, we request you all for articles in the souvenir. The content should be restricted to 4(Four) A4 size pages.

The souvenir this time will mainly be with memoirs of most revered Swami Putanandaji Maharaj and therefore request you all to make your write ups in this line. Saikatesh Maharaj has consented to be the Editor of this part of the Souvenir.

Old photographs/ any unknown information of/about Maharaj is also welcome.

Swami Umanandaji Maharaj admitted to Seva Pratishthan

Swami Umanandaji Maharaj, ex-secretary of Vidyapith for the period 1982 - 2005, is seriously ill and admitted to ICU at RKM Seva Pratishthan.

Revered Maharaj is having serious chest infection, urinary track infection. The fever has subsided from yesterday. He is now responding to when called but is very very weak.

The Association prays for his quick recovery.

Inter Ramakrishna Mission Schools Athletic Meet at Vidyapith

There will be an Inter Ramakrishna Mission Athletic Meet at Vidyapith on 23rd and 24th January, 2019 on the backdrop of the 125th Anniversary of the historic Chicago address delivered by Swami Vivekananda.

Swami Jnanalokanandaji Maharaj, ex Secretary of Vidyapith and Member of the Board of Trustees, Belur Math will preside the function.

Honl. Justice(Rtd) of the Supreme Court of India and presently Chairman of the National Human Rights Commission, Sri Pinaki Chandra Chandra Ghosh, ex student of 1968 Batch, will be the Guest in Chief.

We request Members to visit the event.

Ex Student Shishir Roy to be Chief Guest at Annual Prize Distribution

Sri Shishir Roy, ex student of 1998 batch, will act as the Guest in Chief of the Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony to be held at the Vidyapith premises on 26th January,2019.

Sisir, a Masters in English with First Class First Ranking from the Calcutta University is presently the Chief Sub Editor , Ananda Bazar Patrika, Kolkata.

We wish all his success in the days to come and extend our heartiest gratitude to the Vidyapith authorities for giving this honour to an ex-student.

Contribution by 1994 batch

The 1994 Batch contributed Rs 9 Lakhs to Vidyapith on 19th January, 2019 as a token of love and respect to their alma matter.

This is the highest contribution by any batch to Vidyapith.

In a very short period of time, 61 boys of the Class accumulated the sum to be paid and the fund will be utilized in the renovation of the Vidyapith gymnasium and upgrading the Gallery of the School to a Smart/Digital Class.

The Association extends its heartiest greetings and congratulations to the boys of 1994 Batch.

Dr. Tapendra Mallik contributes for the study of a student

A student of class IX was about to leave Vidyapith due to financial reasons. Vidyapith made some considerations with respect to school fees but still there was a shortage of funds.

Thankfully, Dr. Tapendra Mallik (1973 batch), the President of the Alumni Association, came forward to bridge the gap and took it up on himself to pay Rs 50000/- per year for the next two years.

The Association respectfully congratulates Tapen da for his noble gesture.

CSR Grant by CESC

With pleasure we like to inform that CESC Limited has made a CSR assistance to Vidyapith for Rs 5,00,000 (Rupees Five Lakhs).

Prayas Roy Burman, son of ex-student picked up for IPL

Prayas Roy Burman, a 15-year old spinner from Bengal, was sold to RCB for Rs 1.5 Crore in IPL Auction.

Prayas is the son of ex-student Kaushik Roy Burman from 1982 batch.

The Association congratulates Prayas and wishes him all the best.
