Saikatesh Maharaj takes over as the new editor of Udbodhan

Swami Sivapradanandaji Maharaj (Saikatesh Maharaj) (Ex Student 1976 HS) has taken charge of the post of Editor of Udbodhan magazine with effect from 24th October 2005.

Presently he is residing at Mayer Bari.

The Association wishes him all the success for the job assigned to him.

Swami Ramanandaji Maharaj retires from active work

Swami Ramanandaji after his retirement(from active work) is staying as a retired monk at Ramakrishna Mission Home of Service, Luxa, Varanasi- 221010 U.P (popularly known as Kashi Sevashrama) with effect from 29.09.2005 with no connection with the administration of Varanasi Home of Service and/or any branch of Ramakrishna Math & Mission.

He does not having any personal telephone. However any body desiring to contact him may call up during the Office hours of Varanasi Home of Service.

Ex-Student joins the Ramakrishna Mission Order

Sinjan of 2000 Madhyamik Batch from Vidyapith has recently joined the Ramakrishna Mission Order. Presently he is at PPTC, Belur Math.

Subrata Mukherjee da is available as a Priest

Subrata Mukherjee da (Ex-Librarian of the school) has presently retired from Vidyapith service. He is an experienced Priest and has conducted Pujas (Durga Puja and alike) for several years in and around Purulia district. At present he wants to act as a Priest in and around the country and in opportunities globally for Pujas and alike mangalik ceremonies. Swami Gahananandaji becomes 14th President of Math

Revered Swami Gahananandaji Maharaj was elected President of the Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission at a meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Math and the Governing Body of the Mission held on 25 May 2005. He is the 14th President of the Order.

Swami Gahananandaji was one of the Vice-Presidents of the Math and Mission since 14 April 1992, and succeeds Swami Ranganathanandaji Maharaj who attained Mahasamadhi on 25 April 2005.

Saikatesh Maharaj gets transferred

Swami Sivapradanandaji (commonly known as Saikatesh Maharaj, an ex-student of Vidyapith from 1976 H.S batch), Headmaster Maharaj of Vidyapith has got transferred from Vidyapith w.e.f 19th May, 2005. He served the Chair since 1995.
Presently he has reported Belur Math and waiting for further Orders for new posting.

The name of new Headmaster Maharaj of Vidyapith will be announced after the ongoing Summer Vacation.

Sannyas of Amit Maharaj(Ex Student 1983)

Amit Maharaj, Ex-student of Vidyapith from 1983 Batch got Sannyas in the forgone Tithi Puja of Sri Sri Thakur at Belur Math. His Sannyas name is Swami Divyasukhananda. He follows Swami Gautomeshanandaji (Amiya Maharaj, 1968) and Swami Sivapradanandaji (Saikatesh Maharaj, 1976 HS) in the tradition of Ex-students becoming Monks of the Ramakrishan Math and Mission Order. The Association extends warm regards and best wishes to the new monk of the Order.

Amit Maharaj is presently posted at Vidyapith.

Introduction of Fans at Vidyapith Hostels

Good news for present and future students. Very soon all the Hostels of Vidyapith are going to be equipped with Ceiling Fans. Work for the aforesaid is complete at Sivananda Sadan and soon to commence at the Senior Hostels.

Forms for Admission Test, 2005 are open for distribution form Vidyapith. Members interested are requested to contact the Vidyapith authorities for further details.

New Secretary for Vidyapith

Swami Atmaprabhanandaji (commonly known as Subhankar Maharaj) took over as Secretary of Vidyapith from January 2005.
Earlier, he carried out the role of the headmaster of the school during the years 1985-1995. This time he took over as Secretary with effect from 8th January, 2005.
Previous Secretary Swami Umanandaji Maharaj is going to lead a retired life at Kashi Varanasi. He joined the school as Secretary in 1981.
