Novel by Sri Indrakant Jha

Sri Indrakant Jha, the retired Hindi teacher of Vidyapith, has written a novel named Trishanku which focuses the present Indian sociey torn between traditional values and decadent western culture.

Admission Test at Vidyapith

Forms for Admission Test are available from Vidyapith till 15th November, 2012.

Forms are being given only for Class V (both English & Bengali medium).

The Admission Test is scheduled on 16th December, 2012.

Ex-student Debabrata Ghosh in the news

Debabrata Ghosh (ex student of our 1978 batch and nephew of Sushil Ghosh da) was in the news of Anadabazar Patrika dated 22nd August, 2012 with the heading "Jete Debo Na".

He is the Principal of Balagarh Bijoykrishna College, being transferred to Khandaghosh College as Principal. He was "Gheraoed" by students requesting him not leave the college as he is so much popular amongst the students & professors.

Commemoration of 150 th Birth Anniversary

RKM Vidyapith has taken up various programmes in commemoration of the 150th Birth Anniversary of Swamiji.

As part of it an Inter School Football Tournament is on progress.

On 9th September, 2012 a cultural competition will be organised at the Vidyapith auditorium from 10 a.m onwards amongst the students of different academic institutions of Purulia district.

Introduction of Trophy at Vidyapith

The Ex-students of 1977 Batch have introduced a new Trophy in the beloved memory of Late Sushil Ghosh Da to be handed over to the winners of the football match held every year on 5th September (Teachers' Day) between the teaching staff of Vidyapith and the students.

The losers of the match will get the Trophy which will be in the beloved memory of Sardar Bir Singh, our Sardarji.

The Association welcomes the act of the Ex stduents of 1977 Batch and extends its heartiest congratulations to all of them.

Football Tournament at RKMV, Purulia

In commemoration of the 150th Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, RKMV Purulia is organising an Inter School Football Tournament comprising of 16 schools of the Purulia district slated to commence from 12th August, 2012. Matches will be conducted on every Wednesdays and Sundays and the Final is scheduled on 9th September, 2012 at the Vidyapith premises.

Most Revered Swami Divyanandaji Maharaj has been kind enough to be present at the Inaugural function of the Tournament.

Sri Sunil Pal admitted into Seva Pratishthan

Sri Sunil Pal, the eminent painter and sculptor, who made a great artistic contribution during the initial days of Vidyapith, has been admitted into Ramakrishna Mission Seva Pratishthan on 6th July after having a heart attack.
He is still at ICU but his condition is reportedly improving. He has been given some blood (group A+) so far.
We pray for his quick recovery.

Purulia RKMV at the Finals of Football Tournament

Ramakrishna Mission, Baranagar is organising an Inter Ramakrishna Mission Football Tournament commemorating the 150 years of Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda.

Vidyapith along with R K Mission, Narendrapur are going to play the Finals of the Tournament on 25th June, 2012 at Baranagar premises from 8:00 a.m. onwards.

Members are requested to throng in numbers to seek the victory.

Paintings of Panchu Da

With consent of Sri Panchu Gopal Dutta (our beloved Panchu Da), some of his remarkable paintings are being published here and numbered serially.

These paintings have been offered for sale by him and the tentative price of them will be Rs 25,000/- each.

Contribution by the 1987 Batch

The 1987 batch has contributed Rs 1,60,000/- to the Corpus Fund to enlarge the ongoing activities of the Alumni Association.

This is the single largest contribution in the history of the Association by any body.
