Perumal da at Purulia

Sri S.L.Perumal, retired Mathematics teacher of Vidyapith and our dearest Perumal Da, is now at Purulia again. He has joined as the co-coordinator of Kalyan (just opposite the Vidyapith premises).

The Association extends its heartiest congratulations for his new innings.

Rabindra Jayanti at Vidyapith, 2014

Amidst huge enthusiasm Rabindra Jayanti was observed at the Vidyapith Auditorium on 9th May, 2014.

Sri Rahul Chakraborty (1992 batch), Head of the Department, Department of English, Lalpur College, Purulia was the Chief Guest of the function. His lucid way of narration of the various aspects of life involved in the the poems of Kabiguru was highly enjoyed by the students of Vidyapith.

Sri Kaushik Majumder (1988 batch) thereafter performed Sri Ramakrishna Bandana based on Rabindra Sangeet which was highly appreciated by the audience.

Uttishthata - Second Issue Released

The 2nd issue of the magazine Uttishthata has been released on 13th April, 2014 in Purulia. This is an initiative involving some of our ex-students including Anindyasundar Ghosh of 1985 batch.

Donation by 1985 Batch


The 1985 batch handed over Rs 4,05,000/- (Rs. Four Lakhs Five Thousand only) to the Vidyapith authorities to be distributed amongst the permanent, temporary and casual (more than 5 years) Group D staff of Vidyapith.

A function was arranged on 12th April, 2014 during the Assembly of the school, where Swami Akinchananandaji Maharaj (Anil Maharaj), Assistant Secretary, Swami Saktipradanandaji Maharaj, Headmaster, Sri Swapan Bandyopadhyay, Sri Sakti Prasad Mishra were present along with a large number of teaching and non-teaching members.

Ex-student contests Lok Sabha Polls

Probably for the first time any of our Member is contesting a Lok Sabha poll.

This time Dr Mriganka Mahato of 1980 Batch, eminent eye specialist, is contesting from the Purulia Lok Sabha Constituency. He will be representing the All India Trinamool Congress Party.

The Association expresses its best wishes to him.

Panchuda's paintings are now available to collectors for purchase. If anyone of you wish to collect one of his paintings for home or office please contact Sri Amardip Ghosh of 1995 batch.

Sri Ajay Chatterjee is available as Teacher

Sri Ajayendranth Chatterjee, retired Biology teacher of Ramakrishna Mission Vidyapith, Purulia has now settled in Kolkata. His residence is near Mitali Sangha playground in Garia.

Ajayda is now available as a Teacher in Kolkata.

Invitation from Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Patna


Swami Sivapradananada, aka Saikatesh Maharaj, has sent an invitation to join the programme in commemoration of the 150th Birth anniversary of Swamiji at Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Patna. Saikatesh Maharaj recently took charge of the Ashrama at Patna.

It's a two-day programme including Swamiji's Tithi Puja.
